Black Cohosh is a North American plant, well respected by herbalists, and can be found as an ingredient in many formulations. Native North American women are said to have relied on the herb in mid-life, understanding the variety of special uses it has for health maintenance. The chemistry of the root has been thoroughly investigated and found to contain unique compounds. Although Black Cohosh is suitable for both sexes, historically mature women, especially at the time of change, have found comfort from its use.
